Animal Management and Care

The Jaguar SSP© is committed to education, field conservation and excellent care of zoo animals. To help ensure their health, safety and well-being a document entitled Guidelines for Captive Management has been produced by the Species Survival Plan. It provides recommendations for facility design and construction as well as environmental enrichment, nutrition, reproduction and veterinary care. Always considered a work in progress, this document will undergo revision by the membership and management group of the SSP as new information becomes availalble.
